My name is David Bowe and I am an artist and educator. I have been a practicing artist and designer since graduating from fine art Printmaking in Limerick School of art Design in 2012. I regularly exhibit my work and have works held in the collections of the Office of Public Works, Limerick School of Art and Design and in private collections in Ireland, United Kingdom, Canada, United States and Spain.
Additionally, I have delivered a variety of art courses to all age groups though artist organisations I have been a part of and have always been passionate in this way about teaching and learning.
I am currently completing my Professional Master’s in Education Programme in the National College of Art and Design, on course to graduate in May 2020.
I aim to create an active approach to teaching so that students are engaged with each aspect of their learning. I try to create student centric projects in my teaching that allow students to feel an ownership of their artistic practice to explore avenues of their own interest. I keep a holistic approach to my classroom environment as exploration is so intrinsic to art, all students must feel comfortable to try, fail and ask for help or advice as they need to.
